How to add a doctor to Grok Bot

Add FutureClinic to Grok Bot with one MCP command, or let your bot open futureclinic.com in its own browser. Because your bot already knows your weight loss history, it drafts the intake for you to verify.

The short answer

Send your Grok Bot the command "Add a custom MCP server called futureclinic at https://mcp.futureclinic.com/mcp", click Add it, then click Authorize to sign in and type @ to attach futureclinic. Because Grok Bot runs on its own computer, it can also open futureclinic.com in its own browser to start your visit. Either way, you verify the intake summary and a licensed physician writes back, typically within a few hours.

Key facts

  • Tell your Grok Bot to add a custom MCP server called futureclinic at https://mcp.futureclinic.com/mcp, click Add it and Authorize, and attach it with @.
  • Grok Bot runs on its own computer, so it can also open futureclinic.com in its own browser and prepare a visit for you to confirm and pay.
  • FutureClinic has over 300 doctors across 63 specialties; pay $40 for the best-fit doctor or pick a recommended physician (typically $20 to $100) with no subscription required.
Add FutureClinic to Grok Bot
Start a visit with a licensed doctor from the conversation you are already in.

Tracking meals, keeping up with workouts, and watching the scale stall after a month is a familiar cycle when trying to lose weight. When you want a doctor's input on whether lab work or medication makes sense, the usual options get in the way. Booking a local clinic visit often means waiting weeks, online weight-loss programs frequently push monthly drug subscriptions, and a chatbot cannot order labs or prescribe medicine.

Connecting your Grok Bot to FutureClinic offers a direct alternative. You can get medical care through your agent from a licensed US physician who treats you by message.

How does Grok Bot reach a doctor?

Because Grok Bot runs on its own computer, your agent has two routes to FutureClinic:

  • FutureClinic's MCP server. Connect it once so your bot can prepare your intake, send your approved summary, and check for your doctor's reply.
  • Its own browser. Your bot opens futureclinic.com in its own browser and starts the visit there. You confirm the summary and pay before a doctor sees your case.

Either path works because care runs by message, with no appointment to book.

Connect FutureClinic to Grok Bot

  1. Open a chat with your bot and send Add a custom MCP server called futureclinic at https://mcp.futureclinic.com/mcp as your message.
  2. Make sure the phrase "custom server" stays in your prompt, just as shown above. After the bot displays the server name and URL for confirmation, click Add it.
  3. When the connect card pops up, click Authorize to log in to your FutureClinic account (or register a new one) and grant permission for the bot to share your answers and photos as well as view your chats and health record.
  4. Type @ in the message bar and attach futureclinic.

Once added, this connection works across every bot on your account, and you can view it anytime under Settings > Plugins > Yours.

Once it's connected, make sure you instruct your AI to use FutureClinic to help find you a doctor. Otherwise, it may not know that this is what you want.

To start a visit, send your bot:

Use FutureClinic to help find me a doctor for weight loss, using our past meal and workout logs.

Using Grok chat or Grok Build instead?

At grok.com, you can hook up FutureClinic directly from the connectors screen:

  1. Click New Connector and select Custom.
  2. Paste https://mcp.futureclinic.com/mcp into the URL field and complete the sign-in flow.

If your workspace runs on Grok Business or Enterprise, a team administrator needs to enable connectors before you begin, as explained in the xAI connectors guide. Developers working in xAI's terminal agent, Grok Build, can register the server using the grok mcp add command, while instructions for other platforms live on FutureClinic's setup page.

Why your Grok Bot's context matters for weight loss

At FutureClinic, our view is that the future of healthcare revolves around people partnering with their personal AI agents to stay on top of their health. A brick-and-mortar clinic cannot read the conversations you have had with your bot about meal planning or workout plateaus, forcing you to start over on a blank intake sheet.

When linked to FutureClinic, your Grok Bot drafts answers to the intake questions using the history you have already shared with it, then presents everything for you to review. Because of that, you never have to repeat yourself, nothing reaches a clinician without your sign-off, and the physician gets the complete picture.

For a weight-loss visit, your bot can pull together:

  • your height, current weight, and how those numbers have shifted over time
  • specific diets, tracking apps, or routines you have attempted and how your body responded
  • ongoing medical conditions you manage, such as high blood pressure
  • daily medications you take alongside any drug allergies

Which doctor reviews your visit and what can they do?

FutureClinic brings together both generalists and specialists, offering access to over 300 doctors across 63 specialties so you can get help with broad primary care or targeted concerns. When you want to address weight loss, an internal medicine or family medicine physician is an ideal match.

Every clinician on the platform holds an MD, DO, or MBBS degree and is thoroughly verified and vetted by FutureClinic prior to taking patient cases. Because your health deserves expert-level care, you will never be handed off to a nurse practitioner or a physician assistant.

While your AI assists with gathering intake details, the physician makes every single medical decision. Communicating by message, your doctor can review your history, order lab work, send a prescription straight to your local pharmacy, or provide a referral. You will typically hear back within a few hours, and almost always on the same day or the next. Alongside your treatment plan, the physician attaches a live-recorded video or audio note called a Human Signature, giving you one-to-one proof that a real doctor reviewed your case. After your initial visit, you can stick with the same doctor in that exact same chat thread whenever you need follow-up guidance or prescription refills.

Upfront pricing with no subscription required

Plenty of telehealth companies make their money by selling their own medications or locking patients into recurring monthly packages. By contrast, FutureClinic sells no drugs or retail products, and there is no subscription required to use the service. Because the physician makes nothing extra when ordering a lab test or writing a prescription, your visit fee pays strictly for their independent clinical judgment.

When you finish the intake questions, you are presented with two transparent price options before paying, with no insurance needed:

  • Choose the default $40 option to route your visit to the best-fit doctor from the entire clinic, which is how most patients proceed.
  • Select a recommended doctor from the list at their listed price, which typically falls between $20 and $100.

Where does FutureClinic work?

Today, patients can use FutureClinic in 33 states and Washington, D.C.: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, Wyoming, and Washington, D.C. The physician who handles your visit must hold an active license in the state where you are located. Because this list of states is updated regularly, it is worth a try even if you do not see yours above, since FutureClinic may have launched there after this guide was published.

Before you start

  • Log in using your personal Grok account on a private device rather than a computer or phone managed by an employer or school.
  • Anything you type into Grok also flows through xAI's systems, though you can revoke FutureClinic access at any moment inside FutureClinic's Settings.
  • When your physician responds, FutureClinic sends an email notification or a mobile app push alert, or you can simply ask your bot whether a reply has arrived.
  • Physicians on FutureClinic do not write prescriptions for controlled substances, which rules out sleep aids like zolpidem, testosterone, benzodiazepines, opioids, and stimulants for ADHD.

Please remember that FutureClinic is not built for medical emergencies, so dial 911 if you have an urgent emergency or reach out to 988 by phone or text during a mental-health crisis.

Questions, answered.

Do I have to connect FutureClinic to each Grok Bot on my account?
No. Once you add the FutureClinic MCP server to one bot, it is available to every bot on your Grok account. You can see and manage it under Settings > Plugins > Yours.
Can Grok Bot start a doctor visit without the MCP connector?
Yes. Because Grok Bot operates on its own computer, it can open futureclinic.com in its own browser and start the intake there. Since FutureClinic runs by message with no appointment to schedule, you simply confirm the visit summary and pay, and a licensed physician writes back.
How does setup work on Grok Business, Grok Enterprise, or Grok Build?
On Grok Business or Enterprise accounts, a team admin must provision connectors before you can add https://mcp.futureclinic.com/mcp at grok.com/connectors using New Connector and Custom. If you use xAI's terminal agent, Grok Build, you can add the server with grok mcp add.
Will I talk to a real doctor, and can I follow up with the same one?
Yes. Every clinician on FutureClinic is a physician (MD, DO, or MBBS), verified and vetted before they see a patient, never a nurse practitioner or physician assistant. Your treatment plan includes a live-recorded Human Signature video or audio note, and you can message the same doctor in the same chat for follow-ups and refills.
