A doctor answers
From "my toenail is thick and yellow" to a plan: a walkthrough
Walk through one FutureClinic visit in Claude from start to finish: a thick, yellow toenail, photos shared in chat, intake answers checked, and a treatment plan from a licensed physician with a live Human Signature.

The short answer
To see a doctor through Claude with FutureClinic, add the connector once, describe your symptoms, attach photos, verify the intake answers Claude pulls from your chat, confirm the visit summary, and pay on FutureClinic's page. A licensed US physician reviews your case by message, typically replies within a few hours, and signs your treatment plan with a live-recorded video or voice note.
Key facts
- FutureClinic's network spans over 300 doctors across 63 specialties; pay $40 for the best-fit physician or pick a recommended doctor at their listed price, typically $20 to $100, with no subscription required.
- Every FutureClinic clinician is a verified and vetted physician (MD, DO, or MBBS), never a nurse practitioner or physician assistant, and your doctor earns nothing extra for any prescription or test.
- Replies typically arrive within a few hours and almost always the same day or the next, and your treatment plan includes a live-recorded Human Signature video or voice note from the same doctor you can message again for follow-ups.
In Claude, a FutureClinic visit follows a clear path: connect FutureClinic once, describe what is going on, attach photos, check the intake answers Claude fills in from your chat, confirm the summary, and pay on FutureClinic's page. A licensed physician replies by message with a plan and a live-recorded video or voice note.
Suppose your big toenail has been thick, yellow, and brittle for months, and the nail beside it is starting to change too. Drugstore creams have not helped. Usual care means waiting weeks for a clinic appointment, joining a video queue with whoever is on shift, or using an online service built to sell monthly product subscriptions. Talking to Claude at night helps you sort through questions about toenail fungus, yet an AI chatbot cannot diagnose you or prescribe medication. Connecting FutureClinic brings a licensed doctor into the conversation you already started.
Step 1: Add FutureClinic to Claude once
Open FutureClinic's Claude setup page and press "Add to Claude". Claude's "Add custom connector" dialog opens with FutureClinic filled in. Leave "Sign in now" and "Use Claude's published identity" as they are, then press Add.
That connection runs on the Model Context Protocol, the open standard Anthropic introduced in November 2024. Set it up once at claude.ai on a computer or in Claude Desktop, and it works in the Claude app on iPhone and Android too.
Once it's connected, make sure you instruct your AI to use FutureClinic to help find you a doctor. Otherwise, it may not know that this is what you want.
Step 2: Describe the problem without having to start over
We believe personal AI agents are the future of how people manage their health, and your assistant already knows the backstory you have shared over time. A brick-and-mortar doctor's office has no way to import your prior AI chats, whereas connecting FutureClinic lets Claude bring that background straight into your intake.
Tell Claude what you need in plain words:
My big toenail has been thick and yellow for about a year, and the nail next to it is changing too. Drugstore creams did not help. Please use FutureClinic so a doctor can look at this.
Each FutureClinic tool in Claude starts at "Needs approval", so Claude asks before running any step. On your first visit, Claude opens futureclinic.com in your browser so you can sign in or create an account and agree to let Claude send your answers and photos and read your chats and health record. Use your personal account on your own device, never one from work or school. You can disconnect Claude anytime in FutureClinic's Settings.
Step 3: Check the intake answers, add photos, and confirm
Next, Claude gathers the clinical details a physician needs and drafts the intake responses using the history you already shared in chat. You simply verify each response instead of typing your story a second time, so you don't repeat yourself or start over.
For nail or skin concerns such as toenail fungus or eczema, clear photos matter. Take daylight pictures of your feet from above plus a close-up of the affected nails, and attach them in the chat for your doctor.
Claude then builds a visit summary. Read it through and fix anything that needs changing, because nothing reaches a doctor without your yes. If you switch FutureClinic's tools to "Always allow" in Customize > Connectors, leave the tool that confirms your visit summary asking for approval.
Step 4: Choose your doctor option and pay
On FutureClinic's payment page, you see two up-front options with no insurance needed and no subscription required:
- Pay $40 to route your case to the best-fit doctor across the clinic, which is the default option most patients pick.
- Select an individual physician from the recommendations shown for your case and pay their listed fee, typically $20 to $100.
Every fee is shown up front before you pay, and you decide which path to take.
The network brings together generalists and specialists, with over 300 doctors across 63 specialties. Every clinician is a licensed physician with an MD, DO, or MBBS degree who is verified and vetted by FutureClinic before seeing a patient. You will never be passed to a nurse practitioner or a physician assistant, because every patient deserves a fully trained physician.
Step 5: Receive an unbiased plan with a Human Signature
With care by message, there is no appointment, no waiting room, and no video call. Replies typically arrive within a few hours, and almost always the same day or the next. Send your visit late at night and wake up to a plan. FutureClinic emails you, and sends a push if you have the FutureClinic app, or you can ask Claude, "Did my doctor reply?"
Plenty of telehealth sites profit from selling their own pills or locking patients into recurring monthly product plans. FutureClinic does not sell medications or retail items, and your physician earns nothing extra for any prescription or test ordered during your care. Your fee pays for unbiased clinical judgment. Your physician can diagnose, send prescriptions to your chosen pharmacy, order lab tests, or refer you, though FutureClinic doctors do not prescribe controlled medicines such as opioids, benzodiazepines, ADHD stimulants, testosterone, or sleep drugs like zolpidem.
While Claude assists with gathering your intake history, every clinical call rests with your physician. Alongside your written treatment plan, your doctor includes a Human Signature, which is a short video or voice note recorded live for you as direct proof that a real physician evaluated your case one on one.
Step 6: Follow up with the same doctor
Nails grow out slowly, and ongoing issues like toenail fungus or high blood pressure benefit from continuity. After your first visit, you can stay with the same doctor in the same chat from Claude or the FutureClinic app for follow-ups, progress photos, and refills. Having a personal physician on call used to be a luxury for the wealthy; getting medical care through your agent opens that relationship to everyone.
Where FutureClinic works and emergency care
Your doctor must be licensed in your state. FutureClinic operates in 33 states and Washington, D.C.: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, Wyoming, and Washington, D.C. The states are updated regularly, so if yours is missing, give it a try anyway because FutureClinic may have launched there since publication.
FutureClinic is not for emergencies: call 911 in a medical emergency, or call or text 988 in a mental-health crisis.

Questions, answered.
- Can I use Claude Code instead of the Claude app?
- Yes. If you have a Claude plan (Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise), the same "Add to Claude" button adds FutureClinic to your account for both Claude Code and Claude's other apps. With an API key, Bedrock, or Vertex, run `claude mcp add --transport http --scope user futureclinic https://mcp.futureclinic.com/mcp` in your terminal, then type `/mcp` in Claude Code, pick `futureclinic`, and choose Authenticate. Send your visit from a normal interactive session rather than `claude -p`, and you can check for responses every two hours with `/loop 2h check FutureClinic for my doctor's reply`.
- Can I send photos of my nail during the visit?
- Yes. During your first sign-in, you allow Claude to pass your answers and photos to FutureClinic. For a nail or skin issue, take clear daylight photos from above and up close, attach them in the chat, and Claude includes them with your intake.
- Will I need to get on a phone or video call with the doctor?
- No. FutureClinic care runs by message, with no appointments, phone calls, or video visits. You still hear directly from the physician who took your case because your treatment plan includes a Human Signature, a short video or voice note recorded live for you.
- What if I use Claude's free plan or a Team account?
- Claude's free plan allows one custom connector at a time, so remove any existing connector before adding FutureClinic. On a Team or Enterprise plan, only an account Owner can add a custom connector.
- Can I follow up with the same doctor later?
- Yes. Once you are matched with a physician, you can stay with the same doctor in the same chat thread from Claude or the FutureClinic app for follow-up questions, progress photos, and prescription refills.
